Customer Service Ambassador

Become part of our Customer Service Ambassador program today! CHO is looking for friendly outgoing people to provide courteous assistance to our passengers throughout the terminal. Ambassadors are trained to provide general directions, flight status, and airline gate locations to make a positive traveling experience. Ambassadors will monitor and facilitate access to the airport lounge(s). Full and part-time positions are available.

Pay rate is $14.00 per hour. Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, evening shifts and holidays.

Benefits for full-time employees include health care coverage with 100% of employee’s coverage currently paid by the Authority, retirement and life insurance coverage in Virginia Retirement System, two weeks paid leave and twelve paid holidays.

Benefits for part-time employees include one week paid leave and paid holidays.

Must successfully complete all required Fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Checks and employment background check. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license with driving record insurable by Authority’s automobile liability carrier.

Equipment Technician

Charlottesville Albemarle Airport Authority is seeking an experienced diesel/gasoline mechanic for the position of Equipment Technician for the Airport. Responsibilities include repairs and preventive maintenance on all vehicles and airport equipment to include heavy-duty equipment such as dump trucks, snow plows and Aircraft firefighting vehicles and ground maintenance equipment such as mowers and tractors. This position serves as a member of aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) team for CHO Airport. Successful applicant required to pass Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting certification which is provided in-house and required to maintain certification. On-call snow/ice removal is required. A high school education with at least 5 years of prior experience as a diesel mechanic is required.

New starting pay rate – $25.00 per hour but a higher entry rate may be considered based on experience. Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, evening shifts and holidays. National and Alamo has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Car Prep/Lot Attendant

The Car Prep/Lot Attendant prepares and service vehicles prior to rental including: refueling, cleaning and washing, checking fluids and pressure levels of all vehicles. This person will perform all responsibilities with a focus on the needs of our customers and in accordance with our Quality Standards. This position is located at the Charlottesville Airport and pays $10.00/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vehicle to ensure safety equipment is in working order; lights, tires, brakes, wipers, horn, seat belts, mirrors and back-up lights.
  • Inspect vehicles for unidentified body damage.
  • Clean all exterior and interior windows and mirrors and vacuum interior, floor, seats, ashtray and trunk.
  • Provide positive customer service, including greetings, assistance with luggage and personal belongings, where applicable.
  • Place items found in vehicles in lost and found. Direct drivers to drop off locations as necessary.
  • Drive the vehicle from drop off point to service area; drive vehicle through car wash and to ready line as necessary.
  • Refuel the vehicle and log identification number with fuel needed and mileage.
  • Ensure that the key tag is properly marked with the correct VIN or Unit number and license plate number.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and report any unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Complete the out-of-service tag and ensure the vehicle is moved to the maintenance area.
  • Identify and pull the vehicles that are eligible for turnback, flagged for grounding or preventative maintenance and verify their movement to the proper lot location…

    Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must have 6 months of work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 convicted moving violations on driving record within the past 3 years
  • No drug, alcohol, or reckless convictions on driving record within the past 3 years (DUI/DWI)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Must be able to give a minimum 1 year commitment to our company
  • Apart from religious observation, must be available to work the following schedule not to exceed 40 hours per work week at the Charlottesville Airport:
